RESEARCH ON MOOREA

Coral Reefs and Climate Change
An Interview with Dr. Peter Edmunds

The Moorea Coral Reef Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program conducts scientific investigations and long-term monitoring of the coral reef ecosystems surrounding the island of Moorea. The main science themes that form the core of the Moorea Coral Reef LTER program include:

  1. understanding the basic ecology of corals, including variation in ecological performance;
  2. examining the population dynamics of key groups of coral reef organisms;
  3. investigating food web and nutrient dynamics; and
  4. studying the maintenance and functional consequences of biodiversity.
