Undergraduate Education

The MCR LTER provides research training opportunities to more than 20 undergraduate students each year. These experiences are available at several MCR-affiliated institutions through the NSF's Research Experience for Undergraduates program as well as university-specific mentorship programs. Undergraduate students are mentored by graduate students, post docs and senior investigators, and may recieve academic credits and/or monetary compensation for participating in MCR research projects.

Several undergraduates are selected from MCR-affiliated institutions to participate in field work during the summer season on Moorea. The students have the opportunity to live and conduct research for several months. To get a taste of the experience, check out a blog by former MCR undergraduate Jaclyn Mandoske here.
